Install, configure, upgrade, and manage SAP Sybase ASE 15.x and 16.x.
Experience supporting SAP Sybase ASE in a Unix/Linux environment.
Experience writing and troubleshooting shell scripts.
Experience performing cross platform migrations.
Knowledge of HA and cluster architecture.
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays , as part of a global leveraged team.
Experience supporting SAP Sybase Replication Server and SAP IQ a plus.
Experience supporting other RDBMS a plus (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2).
Perform periodic database maintenance, monitoring and performance tuning.
Proficient in backup & restore methodologies.
Proactively plan data growth trends.
Proactively perform Health Checks of database environment.
Develop and participate in disaster recovery exercises.
Develop and maintain database documentation and knowledge based articles.
Develop database strategies that align to the customer’s needs and goals.
Support business initiatives and external customers.
Strong communication skills.
Represent database administration team in operations as well as project activities.
ITIL Foundation or related training (a plus).
